About the Station
Shady Pines Radio, born out of the artistic fervor of Shady Pines Media in Portland, OR, began its broadcast in April 2020 during the unprecedented times of the pandemic. Originally a video production team and recording studio, Shady Pines Media evolved, hosting open mics and weaving into the fabric of Portland’s vibrant artist community. This transition illuminated their path to creating the radio station, a platform dedicated to keeping the local creative spirits vibrant.
Why We Love It
Shady Pines Radio serves as a beacon of support for Portland’s local music and arts culture. Launched as a response to keep the community connected during the lockdown, it now focuses on underrepresented artists, giving them a voice through its welcoming platform. The station thrives on the energy and passion of over a hundred volunteers and DJs who resonate deeply with listeners, sharing diversified and unique musical visions.
